The State CASA Conference will be held September 19, 2015 in Indianapolis. Save the date! Breakout sessions will give volunteers the opportunity to hear quality presenters from around the country as they address topics that are important to us and the children we serve. Check back for more detailed information as the date gets closer.
Members of JETT (Jasper Endows Today and Tomorrow), met on November 6, for their second annual Granting Party. Four charities from Dubois County were represented at the evening event: Freedom Reins, Mentors for Youth, Anderson Woods, and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
Each charity took about 10 minutes to educate the JETT members on their focus, who they serve and, if they receive this year’s grant, how they would use the money. After the presentations, the members of JETT took time to weigh out the merits and possible outreach of the organizations and then took an anonymous vote. In the end, it was CASA that was awarded a $9,083 grant to be used toward building their brand through billboard advertising as well as to be added to an existing endowment.
The next Initial Training for new volunteers is scheduled to begin on January 6, 2015. If you would like more information about joining the class or CASA in general, please contact the director at 812-639-0143.
