Child Abuse Awareness: Jenna Quinn Presentation

There are over 42 million survivors of sexual abuse in America alone. According to the Prevent Child Abuse America Report (2015) “Jenna’s Law” has shaped the standard of care for child abuse prevention in the U.S. and remains the most comprehensive law today.

What is “Jenna’s Law?” A law mandating that teachers, parents, and students be made aware of the signs of child sexual abuse.

Jenna Quinn recently visited Dubois County and gave a presentation to 300+ local sixth grade students at the Cabby O’Neil gymnasium. After the presentation concluded, the students were given a pinwheel and asked to plant them in a “garden” to bring awareness to child abuse. Quinn’s presentation focused on how she overcame being sexually abused as a child and to bring hope to other teens who have experienced the same abuse.
